Pecthelm of Whithorn
VIII Century
Anglo-Saxon abbot-bishop of
Casa Candida in what is now southwest Scotland (then
part of Northumbria). A monk of Malmesbury and student of
Aldhelm, he was a close friend of
St. Bede the Venerable, and corresponded with
St. Boniface.
