Harry Norman Turtledove

The science-fiction writer Harry Turtledove is not Orthodox, but holds a doctorate in Byzantine history and has made more extensive use of Orthodox subject matter than almost any other genre novelist. (One of his short stories actually takes place during an Ecumenical Council!) In his earlier scholarly period, Turtledove wrote a widely-known English translation of the Chronicle of St. Theophanes the Confessor.
