Although an Anglican, C. S. Lewis was such a prominent defender
of "mere Christianity", as he called it, and so close to
Orthodoxy in much of his High-Church theology,
that he has been described as "quasi-Orthodox", and his writings
have been the gateway to the Church for many converts.
