Prominent American Orthodox theologian, noted for his writings on war and (against) pacifism, and for his conservative political opinions. Because of his remarkable scholarship and willingness to consider opposing points of view, his works have often won praise even from those (both inside and outside the Church) who disagree with his conclusions.
